Billionaire investor Robert Millner has completed his upgrade within Sydney’s Observatory Tower.

His longtime two-bedroom-plus-study apartment, which had a $2.65 million price guide through Vanguarde Sydney agent Tim Breckell, has been sold.

The garden apartment cost $530,000 in 1998.

The Washington H Soul Pattinson chairman has bought on the 25th floor for $5.2 million from Elsa Morgan, widow of hotelier Maurice Morgan.

Miller retains links with Cowra, where his family has farmed for about 60 years.

He joined the family business in 1984.
