Bill Shorten's former Moonee Ponds home, Maynooth, listed again
Maynooth, the renovated Moonee Ponds family home which Opposition Leader Bill Shorten and his ex-wife, Debbie Beale, sold in 2008 after separating, has hit the market again.
The 16 Laura Street offering, located near the Puckle Street shops and Moonee Ponds train station, is expected to sell for between $2.8 million and $3 million.
Shorten and Beale secured $1.75 million for the red-brick home with four bedrooms in December 2008.
The politician moved nearby in Moonee Ponds paying $842,000, with second wife Chloe whom he married in 2009.
Nelson Alexander’s Andrew Johnston, who represented Shorten and Beale nine years ago, is also marketing Maynooth.
The auction of the 843 sqm holding is scheduled for May 18.
Moonee Ponds in Victoria is a family-friendly suburb with lots of green spaces that is equally suitable for families or singles.
It is renowned for its racecourse and has plenty of shops and bike tracks.
The median price for a house is $1,040,500 and $520,000 for units.
