Former Cronulla Shark forward Ben Ross and his wife Renai sold their luxury Cronulla oceanfront penthouse days before its recent scheduled auction.

The paperwork shows a $3,356,100 sale last month. They've now bought a five bedroom on the Port Hacking waterfront at Burraneer

The Cronulla penthouse was listed through Greg Gilbert agents Alex Pitsis and Nathan Ogilvie.

The couple moved into the apartment shortly after the Ross proposed to Renai in 2008 and whilst he was still at the sharks.

The top floor renovated entertainers' pad has three bedrooms, two large balconies and a private lift.

Ross, who played 173 games in the NRL through an injury hit career, has just secured his coaching accreditation as a senior club coach.

He is currently the national welfare manager of Men of League and the community ambassador for the Sharks and the NRL.
