The former NRL star Ben Barba has sought tenants for his Caringbah South home after moving to France.

Barba, who was pivotal in the Cronulla Sharks Premiership winning team last season, now plays for rugby union side Toulon after signing a lucrative two and a half year deal.

The recently vacated two bedroom home with upstairs loft cost Barba $1.18 million in 2014 following his move from Brisbane.

It was first listed in early April at $1,100 per week through Century 21 Cronulla agent Ashlee Dorant, who has now amended the asking rent to $1000 a week.

The listing photos were taken in the dreary weather we've had over the last few weeks.

The images show a completely bare home, with the outdoor entertaining area looking out onto a rain soaked decking.

His four bedroom Everton Park home just outside of Brisbane continues to be a rental after he left Queensland for the Shire.

It cost him $769,000 in 2013.

Barba has made his French rugby union debut for Toulon last month, coming on late in the Top 14 club's loss to Brive.

The former Cronulla NRL full-back, who left Australia amid uncertainty over his NRL future after a second positive illicit drugs test, made two tackles in the match.

Barba has four daughters with his girlfriend Ainslie Currie.
