Autumn Park, the luxury Mittagong retreat, has sold following its transformation by Sydney northern beaches architect Mike Hale.

It had a price tag of $5 million, which if achieved, would be the highest price paid in the small Southern Highlands grazing district in seven years.

Hale's renovation and extension came in 2015 costing well over $800,000.

The re-imagined rustic brick barn with old wharf timbers is now a cutting edge home with a contemporary butterfly roofed pavilion extension.

Upstairs in the barn structure are all four bedrooms.

Two sit at one end of the home, both with Juliet balconies overlooking the countryside, while the other two have their own private decks.

The master suite's deck features its own spa plunge pool.

In the modern front section of the home there's a games room with bar, a living room with feature wood fireplace and a media area with inbuilt projector and drop down screen.

A tennis court, dressage arena and four paddocks sit in the 40 hectare grounds.

Sarah Wotton and Geoff O'Reilly at Highlands Property Bowral had the listing for the vendors Peter and Gerda Williams who are now based in New Zealand.

Williams’ professional director duties expanded from the boardrooms of EBOS Group and CB Norwood last year to include NZX-listed pharmacy operator Green Cross Health.
