Television audience researcher David Castran, dubbed “the TV doctor”, has emerged as the $2.92 million buyer of The Wedge House, one of Whale Beach’s most identifiable properties.

The founder and managing director of Audience Development Australia is the owner of the home designed by Peter Stutchbury and colleague Marika Jarv.

The Wedge House was built between 1998 and 2000 for Deon and Kim Hubner, co-founders of not for profit organisation Living Ocean.

The three-bedroom home is designed with two wedges that extend in opposite directions to take advantage of its position overlooking the beach.

It won the 2003 Australian Timber Design award after its build by Bryce Campbell and it sits in Pape Landscape gardens.

LJ Hooker Palm Beach agents David Edwards and Danielle Forde sold the home.

This article was first published in the Sunday Telegraph.

Castran has since told Mediaweek the home could be used for research, in particular home groups he regularly conducts. Castran also holds home groups in the Horizon building in Darlinghurst.
