The Sydney Theatre company artistic director Kip Williams has upsized Potts Point apartments.

He's bought the long-time apartment of the late socialite Bobby Bawden, who was dubbed the doyen of the 1920s Byron Hall apartment block.

She had called the three bedroom apartment her home for nearly 25 years.

The apartment's French Parisian interior design was done by its earlier owner, jeweller Peter Sourry.

Laing Real Estate agents Vicki Laing and Anthony Dowling sold the apartment with harbour views after having it listed with $2 million hopes.

Williams, who sold nearby for $750,000, was the youngest artistic director in the company's history when promoted to the role in 2016.

This artcle was first published in the Saturday Daily Telegraph.
