Christian Ainsworth, of the Aristocrat pokie machine family, has taken a $400,000 loss on his Palm Beach retreat which sold mid-week.

He paid $3,425,000 for the dress circle, four bedroom Ocean Road property in 2013 and sold for $3,025,000 through BresicWhitney Balmain agents Adrian Oddi and Callum Edmonds.

Ainsworth is the 45-year-old youngest son of billionaire Aristocrat poker machine founder Len.

Another Ainsworth, his eldest brother Geoff Ainsworth and his wife, poet Johanna Featherstone have recently bought two adjoining homes on nearby Northview Road.

The two homes on 2300-square-metre cost a combined $16.1 million.

Stephen and Nanette Ainsworth are the family's longest owners at Palmie having paid $2.3 million in 2000.
