Ardagh, the Mosman trophy home relisted again
Pharmacists Gary and Mary Smoker have relisted their Mosman trophy home, Ardagh.
It was last up for sale five years ago when it had initial $15 million hopes.
There have been only five owners in a rich 110 year history.
Set on 2700 square metres, the seven-bedroom Federation mansion with pool and tennis court was built in 1905.
In 1922 it was bought by former British trade commissioner John Adamsand his wife Gwynneth who sold it in 1964 to pianist John Champ.
Smoker, a former Mosman alderman, bought the Prince Albert Street property in 1993 for $1.7 million.
Richard Simeon has the curren t listing of the Prince Albert Street home, marketing it as the largest federation tennis court estate in Mosman.
The local developers Smith & Cabban built Armagh and around 125 superb federation houses and estates across Mosman.
Simeon has sold four of the remarkable estates.
By way of example Simeon, of Simeon Partners, points to the nearby Smith & Cabman-Built mansion Curraweena on 2238 square metres he sold to hedge fund manager Paul Henry in 2009 for $13.2 million.
