ANZ executive Mark Lang saw his Kew trophy home sell for $6.05 million at its recent private auction.

The Thomas Street home that sits amid Paul Delany landscaped gardens was expected to fetch between $5 million and $6 million.

Kay & Burton agents Scott Patterson and Sam Wilkinson marketed the home.

Lang paid $597,000 in 2000 for the home in Kew's prestigious Sackville Ward precinct.

It sold with five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a self-cleaning heated swimming pool on the 780 square metre parcel.

Lang has previously been the head of business banking for Victoria and Tasmania.
