It was five years ago when architect Andrew Jefferies from Third Voice Studio renovated the South Yarra trophy home.
The original Victorian terrace house has been opened up, allowing for light and flow, and modernised with its coal fireplaces replaced with gas.
Its period charm, with cornices, windows and marble mantles were retained.
At last weekend's RT Edgar auction Jeremy Fox opened bidding at $3.8 million when Oliver Booth's five bedroom plus study listing went to weekend auction.
The bids got to $4.35 million but went no higher when it was passed in.
According to the agent the property was bought after auction for an undisclosed amount. Property Observer gleans it was $4,405,000.
Set close to restaurants, shops, transport, river walk and Chapel Street, it sits on a 465 square metre block.
