Alta Vista, at 81 Wellington Parade South, east Melbourne sold at weekend auction.

It initially came with $6 million price hopes last year, but more recently with the revised price guidance of $4.2 million plus.

Property Observer gleans it fetched a little over $4.6 million.

The 1876 free-standing, double-storey Victorian home had been relisted through Andrew Harlock at Abercromby's.

Alta Vista has an historic bluestone wall with a wrought iron fence.

The front garden is adorned with three mature palm trees and the back garden with six beautiful birch trees and water features.

The property is unique in Jolimont, in so far as being a free standing house with a gated driveway at the front of the property leading to a double carport and a single garage.
