Alta Vista, at 81 Wellington Parade South, East Melbourne comes with $6 million price hopes.

The 1876 free-standing, double-storey Victorian home has been listed by Kay & Burton agent Andrew Baines.

It last reputedly sold at $5.75 million in late 2010, according to one advisory website, though unconfirmed.

Alta Vista has an historic bluestone wall with a wrought iron fence.

The front garden is adorned with three mature palm trees and the back garden with six beautiful birch trees and water features.

The property is unique in Jolimont, in so far as being a free standing house with a gated driveway at the front of the property leading to a double carport and a single garage.
