Actors Marta Dusseldorp and Ben Winspear have sold their 1895 Leichhardt house for $1,295,000. The couple bought the then unrenovated Victorian property in 2006 for $640,000.

The Thornley Street property sold ahead of next weekend's scheduled auction through Mia Fredrix, of Laing+Simmons Drummoyne who was marketing it at $1.15 million plus. Extended with an open-plan living area and two bathrooms, the property was been rented in recent years.

Dusseldorp is best known for her role in Channel Seven’s A Place to Call Home, while Winspear starred in last year’s Underbelly Badness series as Detective Sergeant Tim Browne.

Marta is the granddaughter of Dick Dusseldorp, the philanthropist and founder of property company Lend Lease.
