There's $75 million hopes for the Sydney Polo Club property, owned by Peter Higgins, the co-founder of mortgage broking giant Mortgage Choice.

The grand estate in Richmond, north-west of Sydney near the Hawkesbury River, has played host to a number of international celebrities and royalty.

A scene for Baz Luhrmann's 2013 movie The Great Gatsby was filmed at the property.

Spanning 116 hectares, the Sydney Polo Club includes three polo fields, two indoor arenas, a clubhouse, stables and a garden pavilion.

The main homestead has three bedrooms, while there's lodging for staff and a renovated barn house.

The Sydney Polo Club land amalgamation has been a project of Higgins since 2002 when he buying property in the area.

Christie's International agent Ken Jacobs is marketing the grand estate.

In 2017 the Sydney Polo Club held the XI FIP World Polo Championships. The event was held just after and wife Rebecca sold 12.3 hectares of the estate for $4.3 million.

The property, dubbed Hawkesbury House, was bought by champion polo player Hugh Parry-Okeden and his wife, Gendy.
