Restaurateur Brien Trippas, founder and chairman of the Trippas White Group, has listed his five-bedroom, three-bathroom character home in Gordon.

It has been offered with $4.6 million hopes.

It includes a Howard Tanner-designed extension, with gardens by Annie Wilkes, and a cabana beside the gas-heated pool.

Presiding over a 1,511 square metre block, the home situated at 29 Nelson Street, Gordon comprises five double bedrooms, open plan living and dining, chef's kitchen, central garden courtyard and alfresco terrace.

Other features include wine cellar, Jet-master fireplace, gas heated pool and double lock-up garage.

It's just an easy stroll to the rail, bus, village and convenient to North Shore's finest schools.

The property will be auctioned on December 1.

The suburb's median house price sits at $2.3 million, according to CoreLogic.
