Angus McKay, the newly installed boss of 7 Eleven, appears set to be upgrading homes in Melbourne's east.

McKay and wife, Tracey have sold their Malvern home recently.

Having paid $2.15 million in 2004, the refurbished four bedroom family home came with pool on its 1000 sq m block with deep rear garden.

McKay, who had been at The Skill Group prior to taking the top job at 7 Eleven last year, is rumoured to have bought in Hawthorn, pinpointed as paying around $8.94 million at private auction for a three level mansion on a 1600 sqm Kooyongkoot Road holding.

It comes with plunge pool, a pavilion/gym with bar and adjacent night-lit, north-south synthetic tennis court.
