Garvan Institute chief operating officer Philip Knox and wife Marianne have sold Lagoona House, their contemporary Noosa Heads weekender.

The Sydney based couple spent $1.1 million on the property before commissioning acclaimed Noosa designer Chris Clout to redesign the home.

Dowling & Neylan Real Estate agent Dan Neylan secured a record price for a home off the water on Noosa Sound.Knox, who spent eight years working as an accountant for Channel 10, joined the Garvan in 2013.

The couple call Point Piper home, having spent $8,835,559 on a garden apartment in an exclusive Ercole Palazzetti & BKH designed apartment block in 2014.
