Australian cricketer Josh Hazelwood has splashed $3.8 million on a Hunters Hill home.

The recently built four bedroom, three bathroom home sits on a 500 square metre block.

It features dedicated lounge and media rooms, an upper level lounge with balcony and an alfresco retreat with outdoor kitchen that overlooks the pool.

It's the first foray into the Sydney property market for the 25 year old from Tamworth. At 17, Josh Hazlewood became the youngest fast bowler to be selected by New South Wales when he faced New Zealand in November 2008.

The 1.96 metre tall bowler stood out in the auction crowd last weekend when it was offered by McGrath Hunters Hill agent Tracey Dixon.

Hazlewood made his senior debut for Australia at the age of 17 at the SCG against New Zealand in 2008.

He reached 50 career wickets in just his 12th Test, faster than Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and Mitchell Johnson.
