The Norman Park, Brisbane dream home site of the former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his wife Therese Rein has been sold.

The couple secured $1,751,000 for the Wendell Street building block that cost $1.4 million in 2011.

It was bought by Gregory Van Zeeland.

When the couple bought the land they said they had contemplated buying the block of land for nearly two decades, as it was on their regular walks from their nearby home.

The near riverfront 510 square metre vacant block of land was where they signalled plans to build their empty nest home.

Their existing Norman Park house cost $384,000 in 1994. The local News Ltd paper speculates it will likewise also be sold.
