Fiona Taylor, who was portrayed as a House Rules villain, has secured the sale of her Lake Fyans property.

The near lakeside rural retreat took two months to sell after being passed in.

The striking Lake Fyans home built for Fiona Taylor on the hit Channel 7 reno series sold for $470,000 to a Melbourne family relocating to the Grampians region. 

Ray White, Ballarat, agent Phillip Lee told The Herald Sun the buyer had inspected it prior to auction but were unable to make the November date.

The three-bedroom house on 8.3ha at 273 Kelleys Beach Rd had a $525,000-$575,000 price guide when initially listed. 

Ms Taylor had owned the site for about three and a half years, using it for camping before House Rules and dividing her time between there and Ballarat since.

Set among the gum trees, the TV star said the build was way beyond her "wildest expectations,”
