Prominent Cronulla developer Sammut Group has kicked off construction at its highly anticipated mixed-use development, VUE.

VUE, a transformational project on a 5225 sqm site at <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/vue-3-23-kingsway-cronulla">3-23 Kingsway</a>, is set over two eight-storey buildings over a double-storey podium. The development will include 112 apartments, 880 sqm of commercial space and 3000 sqm of retail space including Harris Farm Markets.

The $350 million mixed-use project, to be delivered with venture capital partner Alceon Group, marks a significant milestone for Cronulla, representing the first urban renewal development since Northies Hotel in 1999.

The project is due for completion by late 2025.

<a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developers/sammut-developments">Sammut Group</a> Chief Executive Officer Allen Sammut said VUE is set to enhance Cronulla’s coastal identity and future-proof the area for years to come.

As Sammut Group’s largest project to date, VUE has attracted a diverse mix of interest with 30 apartments snapped up pre-launch and all one-bedroom apartments are sold out. The overall of the buyer mix has been from&nbsp;local professionals, downsizers and first home buyers.

The 112 apartments are made up of 25 one-bedroom and 30 two-bedroom apartments, the latter starting from $2,115,000. the 51 three-bed units start from $3,215,000. There are just six three and four-bedroom penthouses.

Designed by <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/architects/pbd-architects">PBD Architects</a> with interiors by <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/interior-designers/mim-design">Mim Design</a>, the project has a resort-style feel featuring a large communal terrace with a pavilion and pool, sauna and open-air gym located at podium level, while street-level landscaping and upgrades to the public domain will bring new vitality to the daily experience of the area.

Vue Cronulla will be delivered by multi-award-winning, iCIRT-rated construction firm <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/vue-3-23-kingsway-cronulla">Decode</a>, who is responsible for more than 33 projects across the full spectrum of sectors including the landmark mixed-use project Burwood Grand, which was recently awarded the 2023 Urban Taskforce Best Mixed-Use Development Award.

Decode Founder and Chairman Sam El Rihani said his team is excited to deliver an iconic project for Cronulla.

The project sits 500 metres from another major Sammut Group development, PARC, a commercial building and hospitality venue PARC Pavilion which Sammut Group will operate in partnership with leading hospitality group Feros Group.

Sydney developer Sammut Group has announced the appointment of multi-award-winning, iCIRT-rated construction firm Decode to deliver VUE, their mixed-use project in the heart of Cronulla.

VUE sits on a prominent 5,225sqm site at the northern end of Cronulla Mall and is set over two eight-storey buildings, sharing a double-storey podium.

The development will include 112 apartments, 880 sqm of commercial space and 3000 sqm of retail space including Harris Farm Markets – the first for Southern Sydney.

Sammut Group Chief Executive Officer Allen Sammut says the decision to partner with Decode for the construction of VUE was based on its outstanding reputation and commitment to delivery.

“The appointment of Decode as our building partner for VUE is a significant milestone for this landmark development, particularly as we’re about to commence demolition on site,” Sammut says.

OFSC and ISO accredited, Decode was also one of the first 20 businesses to receive a Gold Star iCIRT rating in 2022. They have&nbsp;delivered over 33 projects across the full spectrum of sectors including the landmark mixed-use project Burwood Grand, which was recently awarded the 2023 Urban Taskforce Best Mixed-Use Development Award, and Grande Pyrmont Bay Estate which won the 2021 Urban Taskforce Best Low-Rise Residential Development Award.

Residents of the new apartments will have access to resort-style facilities including a north-facing pool, a large communal terrace with a pavilion, poolside day beds, sauna and open-air gym complete with breakout spaces for a range of activities.

Sammut Group Chief Financial Officer Julian Sammut says this announcement comes at a time when demonstration of delivery is crucial.

Sammut Group appoints Decode to deliver landmark project, VUE

Sydney developers Sammut Group have attracted strong interest in their latest project, VUE, ahead of launch to the market next month.&nbsp;

The $350 million mixed-use project in the heart of Cronulla, just 100 metres from the Cronulla Beach, sits across a sprawling 5225 sqm at the northern end of Cronulla Mall, set across two eight-storey buildings which share a double-storey podium.&nbsp;

112 apartments are set to be delivered in the project, along with 880 sqm of commercial space and 3000 sqm of retail space, including a Harris Farm Markets, which will be the first in the Sutherland Shire.&nbsp;

The third-generation family business is well known for creating luxury high-end apartments targeting the downsizer market, with VUE their largest scale project in Cronulla to date.

30 apartments have already been snapped up prior to the official launch, with all the sales so far made to local and repeat buyers.

Sammut Group Chief Operating Officer Julian Sammut said that local interest in VUE has been extraordinary.

“We released a select number of apartments at the end of last year and have been blown away by the enthusiasm to be part of VUE.” Sammut said.&nbsp;

He said the project had been eagerly anticipated from the moment the development application was lodged in June 2021.

“From the moment we lodged the plans, people were enquiring, wanting to secure an apartment. This is clearly a combination of limited supply, people’s trust in our absolute commitment to quality and wanting to seize the opportunity to be part of something that they can see will become a big part of Cronulla’s next chapter,” he said.

Highland said Sammut Group apartments in smaller boutique projects would typically sell from $3,000,000 to $5,000,000 but prices at VUE start from $1,150,000 for a one-bedroom, from $2,000,000 for a two-bedroom and from $2,950,000 for a three-bedroom apartment, with the penthouses priced on application.&nbsp;

From street level, VUE will bring a new vitality to the area with landscaping and upgrades to the public domain. Upstairs on the podium level, residents will have their own private sanctuary with resort-style facilities including a north-facing pool, a large communal terrace with a pavilion, poolside lounges, sauna and open-air gym complete with breakout spaces for a range of activities.

With the current median house price in the local area approximately $3,000,000, Highland believes VUE will appeal to the many people in larger homes all over the Shire wanting to downsize and simplify their lives.

“Despite normal fluctuations within the property market, the Shire remains extremely resilient and we know that many people who have experienced strong growth in the value of their properties are considering the next step, which for many is about getting closer to the beach and living a more convenient luxurious life and VUE ticks all those boxes,” Mr Highland said.

Sammut Group CEO, Allen Sammut said the project was generating a lot of excitement in the community.

The project received development approval in September 2022. The approval came within a month of the approval for another major Sammut Group project, PARC, a commercial building and hospitality venue dubbed PARC Pavilion, which they will own and operate in partnership with hospitality outfit Feros Group.
