Reputable builder&nbsp;Decode has commenced construction on <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/atrium-at-carrington-place-40-42-ashford-avenue-castle-hill">Atrium</a>, the first stage of Ellipe Property's $750 million Castle Hill masterplan, Carrington Place.

&nbsp;Occupying 17 amalgamated sites along Carrington Road, Ashford Avenue and Partridge Avenue in Sydney’s north-west, Carrington Place is the largest residential masterplan in Castle Hill. A recent groundbreaking event was attended by more than 100 partners and stakeholders, including the Mayor of the Hills Shire, Federal Member for Mitchell, and the Acting NSW Building Commissioner. The masterplan will be constructed across five stages and feature abundant community space, with over 20,000 sqm of outdoor recreational area including a one-kilometre boardwalk connecting the precinct to the nearby Fred Caterson Reserve.

The project is seamlessly integrated with the surrounding bushland, with a site boundary that stretches right to the edge of Cattai Creek.

The Hills Showground Metro Station is just a two-minute walk from Carrington Place and offers fast connectivity to Sydney’s CBD, Chatswood, North Sydney, Macquarie Park, and Norwest Business Park.

Speaking at the groundbreaking event, the Mayor of the Hills Shire Dr Michelle Byrne said that Carrington Place addressed the needs of the Hills’ changing demographics.

“There are people that have lived in the Hills for 30,40, 50 years, they’re not leaving the Hills - they’re downsizing and choosing apartments," Byrne said.

"There are also more and more people from outside the Hills who want to be part of our community. I’m looking forward to welcoming these people, and projects like Carrington Place - that build not just apartment blocks, but communities - are the key."

Decode kicks off construction at Castle Hill’s largest residential masterplan, Carrington Place

It was just over a year ago that Ellipse Property Group announced it had received approval for one of the largest, and greenest, masterplanned developments in the booming Castle Hill.

Since then, they've launched the first stage, <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/carrington-place-castle-hill-36-carrington-road-castle-hill">Atrium</a>, sold half of its apartments, and begun groundworks after demolishing the previous buildings on the expansive 3.2-hectare site in the rapidly growing Showground Precinct.

Atrium comprises 147 apartments and sits as the gateway building to nature-fuelled masterplan that has over 30 per cent of site coverage dedicated to green open spaces.

Ellipse Head of Development, Nigel Farquhar, said buyers have responded well to the design and amenity put into the apartments.

"Owner-occupiers have jumped at the opportunity to be a part of what is likely to be the greenest community to be produced in <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developments/castle-hill-nsw-2154">Castle Hill</a>," Farquhar says, adding the team is seeing significant interest in the upper end of the market.

While generally downsizers are happy to wait for construction to be further advanced so they have more firm timelines to get their affairs in order and sell their current home, Farquhar says that hasn't been the case for some purchasers at Atrium.

Downsizers, in particular, have been drawn to the design, finishes, and spacious layouts we offer, as well as the unique opportunity to collaborate with Ellipse's design team to alter floor plans at this early stage of construction,” says Farquhar.

“They are confident in committing, knowing that Ellipse is the developer and Decode, a gold star iCIRT-rated builder, is behind the project. They recognize the distinctiveness we’re offering and don’t want to risk missing out on the one-of-a-kind layouts available at this stage.

Farquhar notes that the architecture by Stanisic Architects and Tony Owen Partners, along with the masterplan’s landscape design by Site Image, has been a major drawcard for buyers.

“Ellipse’s design team, led by Associate Director Puja Khanna, recently refined some of the designs for the upper levels and penthouses. These updates were soft-launched and received a strong market response, with one penthouse being reserved at the early stage of hand sketches,” Farquhar says.

Many apartments in Atrium are tailored to suit downsizers or right-sizing owner-occupiers, featuring expansive internal spaces that open onto generously sized balconies or garden courtyards.

A factor for these buyers has been the abundance of nature and space at Carrington Place, with over 20,000 sqm of recreational space and the one-kilometre boardwalk along Cattai Creek that connects the precinct to the nearby Fred Caterson Reserve.

Farquhar explains that future stages—of which there will be five—are designed to attract a broader range of demographics into the masterplan.

“The next stage will feature more diverse apartment configurations that will appeal to first home buyers and investors, while the current stage is primarily attracting owner-occupiers," he says. "There’s a significant demand for this type of product, but there isn’t much available on the market."

Farquhar highlights that the new metro line has been a game-changer, particularly for investors. “The fundamentals haven’t been favourable for investors in recent years, as seen by the decline in investor activity across Greater Sydney and Australia. However, the shortage of rental apartments in the area, combined with the new metro opening, which provides young professionals with easy access to the city, is expected to offer investors a strong yield."

The new Hills Showground Metro will transport Castle Hill residents to Barangaroo in just 33 minutes.

Ellipse Property's $850 million Carrington Place masterplan in Castle Hill has recently kicked off with the launch of its first stage, Atrium, which will be the gateway to what will be one of the area's greenest communities when completed in 2032.

There's been a wide range of purchasers since the first 151 apartments were launched in the project back in October.

A recent buyer was&nbsp;Lauren Spencer-Salt, a primary school teacher at St Andrew’s Primary School in <a href="/new-apartments/quakers-hill-nsw-2763">Quakers Hill</a>. She secured one of the&nbsp;larger-sized two-bedroom apartments in <a href="/new-apartments/carrington-place-castle-hill-36-carrington-road-castle-hill">Carrington Place</a>.

Lauren said she researched various projects in the area including the likes of&nbsp;<a href="/new-apartments/rouse-hill-nsw-2155">Rouse Hill</a>, <a href="/new-apartments/kellyville-nsw-2155">Kellyville</a>, Quakers Hill and The Ponds, before ultimately selecting Carrington Place.

She said the interior design was a really important factor.

“I wanted a layout where I had a bigger living area. I wanted open-plan living," Lauren said.

“When I went to Carrington Place, not only were the size of apartments larger, because I bought an oversized two bedroom with a study and a family room, all of the upgrades offered were already included. It had everything I wanted."

The apartment came with Miele appliances as standard and feature wooden floors.&nbsp;Lauren said the only addition was&nbsp;sheer curtains because she said it brings light into the interior room.

"I was particularly drawn to the project's neutral palette and luxurious finishes, which allows buyers to imbue their living spaces with their own style and personality. There was also a huge array of apartment configurations or layout options to choose from which other surrounding projects just didn’t offer."

Situated directly opposite the Hills Showground Station, Carrington Place stood out due to its thoughtful design and the developer's reputation for excellence and reliability.

The vibrant community, coupled with its proximity to transport links, development of the Showgrounds precinct with new cafes, restaurants and shops coming, made Castle Hill the perfect choice for her forever home.

"I’m going to have a lifestyle and I know all the upgrades, what they are doing at the Showground, cafes and shops and to know that I’m amongst and apart of that," Lauren added.

Another factor in the purchase was the integration of the natural landscape from Cattai Creek, creating a&nbsp;harmonious living environment.&nbsp; Additionally, the precinct will feature over 20,000 square metres of recreational space, making it one of the greenest master-planned communities in the Hills district.
