Weekly Podcast - Episode 44: Cr Nicholas Reece talks Planning within the City of Melbourne
Laurence DragomirDecember 6, 2018

In this week's podcast, recorded at Melbourne Town Hall, I chat with Councillor Nicholas Reece who is also the chair of the City of Melbourne's Planning Portfolio. We discuss the City of Melbourne's Melbourne Design Guide for the Central City, why they are necessary to ensuring a walkable city and diverse streetscapes that add to Melbourne's design credentials and heritage fabric.

The impact of amendment C270 on the Central City is also touched on and the possibility of revisiting some of the aspects including the possibility of transferring development rights from one site to another.

This will be the final podcast for 2018. We look forward to continuing to provide engaging podcasts with key figures within the industry in 2019.

*Please note the following correction, it's the former APA Building that Cr Reece is referring to and not the ANA Building.

**The podcast was recorded on Monday 10th December at 4:30pm, prior to the Future Melbourne Committee meeting. The Future Melbourne Committee unanimously supported the motion to lodge a planning application to the Minister for Planning for the redevelopment of Council House 1 and the greater precinct.
