Weekly Podcast: Episode 29 - Figr Architecture's Michael Artemenko
Laurence DragomirAugust 2, 2018

On this week's episode I catch up with an old friend in Figr Architecture's Michael Artemenko and discuss his experiences during the course of his architectural career and how these ultimately helped him in founding Figr along with co-director Adi Atic.

Michael and I briefly reminisce about our time working together at Kerstin Thompson Architects, which is where we met and the influence this had on both our careers.

We also discuss the challenges of establishing your own firm and the massive learning curve of such a decision and ensuring a good office culture is fostered in which staff look forward to coming into the office and aren't required to do unnecessary overtime.

The value architects add to projects and how the industry could do more to promote this also rates a mention, with Michael citing Open House as a great initiative, and one which Figr have found to be extremely beneficial in communicating their work to the public.
