Houses for removal: The Block Elsternwick makes relocatable secondhand homes fashionable again
Property ObserverJuly 27, 2017

Moving an entire home is not something that is common, but as its been done on The Block, it will no doubt become more fashionable.

The home have been relocated from as nearby as Brighton, along with across town at Pascoe Vale, Moonee Ponds, Preston and Brunswick.

While it is possible to move entire homes it is not as easy as one might think.

There are rules and regulations that must be followed before your home is even lifted off the ground.

Special trailers are needed after the weatherboard is basically cut in half and the roof is taken off.

The Block houses have been given a two storey extension along with triple garage with studio above on the 2989sq m site in Regent St.

Finance is another aspect of the process that needs to be considered while planning the move as it costs money to move homes.
