Zara Home opens at Melbourne's Highpoint

The first Zara Home store has opened in Australia.

The Spanish retailer launched its first Australian store at Highpoint Shopping Centre, in Melbourne's inner west.

The Sydney Morning Herald suggests that more Zara Home stores may be coming, with Sydney's Macquarie Centre a likely spot for the first New South Wales store.

Zara Home sells furnishing and homewares, and will apparently offer two main branded collections per year. It follows the Australian arrival of the business's fashion arm, Zara, which has set up shop in Melbourne's Bourke Street arcade.

Zara is just one of many international "fast fashion" retailers (so-called because of their high turnover of new products) to hit Australia in hopes of expanding their global reach.

H&M, Zara, Gap and UNIQLO have all expanded their Australian businesses or approached the Australian market for the first time in the last few years while J.Crew is rumoured to be launching here soon

Highpoint Shopping Centre has undergone significant refurbishments in the past three years. The centre is partially owned by the Besen family.
