Whyte’s from Torquay has committed to a new $270,000 lease at Melbourne Docklands.

It ranks as one of the biggest food and beverage deals done in the Victoria Harbour precinct this year in a deal negotiated by Savills Australia.

Located at 829 Bourke Street, on the south-west corner of Merchant Street, Savills Australia Victorian retail director Michael Di Carlo said the deal was struck at circa $600 a square metre per annum net on a five year term.

The property comprises a 450 square metre building area over two levels with 250 square metres on the ground floor and 200 square metres upstairs with views to the CBD and the Harbour from a large balcony.

Di Carlo said Whyte’s, which has a very popular wine bar and restaurant on The Esplanade, at coastal Torquay, sought to make a grand statement with a contemporary style restaurant offering.

The lessor is Lend Lease.
