Rugby league legend Steve Mortimer offloads Rushcutters Bay investment
Rugby League legend Steve Mortimer, or 'Turvey', has sold his Rushcutters Bay commercial investment property for $870,000.
Home to McLachlan Cafe, the McLachlan Avenue property was expected to fetch about $900,000 at its October auction, however, it was passed in.
Mortimer had paid $760,000 for the property in 2010.
The 36 square metre ground floor space was bought by an investor who will continue to run the cafe with a net income of $56,600 per annum. It's leased for a number of years.
BradfieldCleary’s Mark Daley and co-agent Grant Whiteman of Ray White Double Bay secured the sale.
Mortimer, who represented the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs for 12 years and 272 games, as well as New South Wales and Australia, runs Steve Mortimer's Australian Shuffleboard which brings shuffleboard to seniors across Australia.
