Queensland real estate professionals will take to the seas in a yacht race designed to raise funds to build a house for homeless youth and live-in carers.

The Property Industry Foundation’s (PIF) annual Brisbane Charity Sailing Cup takes place on Friday 20 May 2016 at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron at Manly and hopes to raise more than $40,000.

Some 250 real estate professionals, from developers to agents, will sail 30 yachts all-day from 10am to 7pm, with a post-race celebration party afterwards.

Property Industry Foundation Queensland chairman and LauDan Developments director Brian McGuckin said the Brisbane Charity Sailing Cup was one of PIF’s signature fundraising events and had quickly established itself as a premier industry networking event.

“The Cup provides a unique opportunity for client entertainment, business networking and relationship building, all while making a difference to young people at risk," he said.

"The Queensland property industry has previously shown strong support for us and we invite them to once again take part in the Cup and lend a hand to homeless young people."
