A piece of Brisbane's shadier side, the site of the notorious Bubbles Bath-House, illegal casino and massage parlour is going to auction

An infamous icon in Brisbane 144 Wickham Street, the home of Fortitude Valley institution Les Bubbles, goes to auction 16 November.

It comes fully tenanted over two leases with five years remaining on each.

Containing a net leasable area of 543 sqm on a land area of 238 sqm over three levels, Ray White Commercial Gold Coast Commercial's Simon Robertson and Brad Merkur are marketing the property.

Mr Robertson said the property was steeped in history and offers potential buyers a rare opportunity to purchase an asset that has gone down in Brisbane folklore and also functions as a tourist attraction.

“There’s no doubting the historical significance of this building. Not only is it heritage listed, but it was formerly known as Brisbane’s most famous illegal casino,” he said.

“The property has transformed in time with a well-established restaurant/bar and massage therapy on the upper level."

He believes this property is ideal for an investor, developer or a self-managed super fund, as it’s currently occupied by two tenants and returning $91,246.87 p.a.

The property is located roughly two kilometres from the Brisbane CBD.
