The Sydney celebrity chef Manu Feildel has announced his South Yarra French bistro, Le Grand Cirque, is closing four months after opening.

Poor bookings, some ordinary reviews about the menu, along with family commitments appear contributing to the decision.

The Daly Street restaurant was a partnership between Feildel and landlord George Calombaris’s Made Establishment Group. They are judges on Channel Seven’s reality show, My Kitchen Rules

“Le Grand Cirque was a long held dream come true for me,” Feildel said in a statement.

“I want to thank all who have supported me in this venture, especially my mate George Calombaris and the other Made Establishment directors.”

The premises previously housed George Calombaris’ Greek/Italian Mama Baba, which also failed to secure sufficient clientele after two years operation.

The Made group owns the 21 Daly Street premises.

Feildel's Sydney restaurant, L'etoile, closed in January.

He also had a Spanish-inspired restaurant in Potts Point, Sydney with another celebrity chef, Miguel Maestre, called Aperitif, which closed late 2011.
