Quentin Wallace, the owner of International Racehorse Transport, has paid about $12.5 million for a South Yarra boarding house with strong art nouveau influences.

It is an unrenovated 54-room boarding house set over two neglected buildings.

The St Arnaud complex sits on an 890 square metre block at 93-103 Park Street, near the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Road shopping strip.

Gross Waddell’s Michael Gross and Jonathon McCormack and RT Edgar’s Jeremy Fox were the marketing agents.
