South Perth record $15.2 million off the plan sale

The third floor apartment in a luxury South Perth promenade apartment building has sold off the plan for $15.2 million.

Setting a new Perth apartment price record, the sale represented $35,000 per square metre.

The 93 South Perth Esplanade is four riverfront reserve apartments which was recently completed.

The local paper says it was purchased during construction by an unidentified leading Perth businessman in education and energy provision, and his wife.

Property Observer gathers it is Rod Jones and his wife, Carol.

The project is headed by estate agent Mal Dempsey who owns the penthouse in the building. He is one of four syndicate members involved in the development of the complex.

The second floor is set to come on the market with more than 600 square metre of space, with four en suite bedrooms, three separate living areas, a wine cellar, four-car garage and a library.

Property Observer gathers the previous highest sale along the prime promenade was $10.8 million in 2012. There was a $9.8 million sale in 2010.
