CoreLogic have calculated there are about 145,000 properties are available for sale around the country. It is the lowest number since 2010. But new listings over the past month were the highest since the peak of the market in 2017. Confidence was rising after eight consecutive months of national price rises, according to CoreLogic’s executive head of research. “It has surprised me that it has taken this long for new listings to get to this above-average level,” Mr Lawless told The Australian. “But the other thing is, it happening at a time when buyer demand is also at really high volumes.” The number of home sales for the first quarter of this year was 22 per cent up on last year.
