Point Piper beachfront sells for $9.4 million

The Point Piper beachfront, 14 Wolseley Road secured a $9.4 million price at auction this week.

It is a four-bedroom mid-1990s property with access onto Seven Shillings Beach. The block is about nine metres wide.

The offering was sold through BradfieldCleary agent Bob Guth with three bidders above the $9 million mark at the Cooley Auctions event.

Guth tried to sell it in 2008 and 2009. It was first listed for late 2007 auction.

The Point Piper residence was sold by the retired surgeon Dr John Chong and his wife Anne who rebuilt after buying it in 1973 for $165,000. It was redesigned in 1994 by architect Peter Stronach,

It had been an executive rental over the years with its asking rent most recently at around $3000 a week.
