Pellicano returns to its roots with new Oakleigh development

Property developer Pellicano has been given approval for a mixed-use residential development in the victorian suburb of Oakleigh.

The mixed-use development, worth $53 million, will have 95 apartments and retail space nd consist of three buildings – a small linear building to the south and two sculpted buildings to the northeast and northwest.

A pedestrian walkway will run north to south through the site, connecting Atherton Road with the access laneway to the north.

Nando Pellicano, managing director, Pellicano said the site offers great connectivity to wider Melbourne being within a two-minute walk to bus access, and a five-minute walk to the Oakleigh train station.

"It also has direct access to major arterials such as Dandenong Road, Warrigal Road and the Monash Freeway,” he said.

"Alke will present a four-storey frontage to the street, with a retail tenancy at ground level creating an opportunity to add to the already vibrant street life.

“We see this development catering to residents in all walks of life,” Pellicano said.

“First home buyers, young professional renters, and downsizers who want the convenience of apartment living while staying within their local community can take advantage of this opportunity.”

A communal residents’ landscaped terrace will be located on level one, landscaped by John Patrick Landscape Architects.

Construction is set to commence in the second half of 2017.
