Median Sydney house asking price above $1,120,000: SQM Research

Sydney house asking prices climbed 2.8% in June, with a median asking price at $1,120,700 and the median unit asking price at $615,400, according to new figures released by SQM Research.

Asking prices for Sydney houses continued to climb over June, with a total monthly rise of 2.8%. The median asking price for a house has now reached $1,120,700 while the median unit in Sydney dropped over June and is now advertised at $615,400.

The number of listed properties across Australia fell 6.5% in June from May with Sydney and Melbourne suffering the greatest monthly change.

National listings are down 3.2% from a year earlier, with falls in Melbourne, Sydney and Hobart the greatest when compared year-on-year.

The biggest yearly change in listings was in Melbourne with 20.2%, Sydney down 15.7% and Hobart 8.4%

The house price median in Darwin fell 2.4% over the last 12 months and units 8.4%. Perth homes were down 3.6%, and units 1.0%.
