A Maribyrnong, Victoria apartment has sold for $515,000 under the mortgagee auction hammer.

The latest sale represents a loss of $57,000 since the property was purchased off the plan in 2010.

Amanda Draper and Edward Thomas of Edward Thomas marketed the listing.

Situated at 113/20 Pier Lane, the property consists of a two bedroom one bathroom apartment.

The property was sold at auction with a price guide of $500,000 to $530,000.

It has been listed as a rental three times since its purchase, in 2012 seeking $500/pw, 2013, seeking $420/pw and more recently in 2018 when it sought $460/pw.

Located on the waters edge, the Edgewater Escape property holds views overlooking the Marina and the Maribyrnong River with easy access to public transport, cafes and other amenities.

Last sold in 2010, the 2011 built apartment transacted for $572,423.

The median price for a home in Maribyrnong is $480,000 according to CoreLogic data.
