The ABC’s recently departed director of news Kate Torney and her husband, photojournalist John Donegan have sold their Alexandria home for around $2.2 million.

The couple has moved back to their home town of Melbourne where she recently took up the post of chief executive of the State Library of Victoria.

The renovated Victorian-era cottage with modern extension on nearly 300 square metres was bought in mid-2010 for $1.64 million.
