A vacant Lake Cathie house has been sold by mortgagees for $550,000.

The Port Macquarie district offering was sold by Tony Dekker and Tony Bransdon from LJ Hooker.

It had been listed since late 2016 when it come with $600,000 hopes.

The three-bedroom house came with open plan kitchen and living area, and a private backyard sanctuary with possible rear access for a caravan or boat.

This Kara Close house is located within walking distance to the beach, Lake Cathie School, medical centre and bus stop, and a short drive away from Woolworths.

The neighbourhood's prior mortgagee sale was when a three bedroom, 1990s Ocean Woods Estate, Bonny Hills offering was sold at $500,000, having 

According to CoreLogic, the median price sits on $555,000.
