Cobbs Hill, a historic Adelaide Hills property has been listed for sale.

The 382 Swamp Road home has been listed with $5.5 million hopes through Dee-Anne Hunt at Harcourts Adelaide Hills.

Built in 1854, Cobbs Hill had been the home to only five families.

Roger and Sally Cook have lived there for 25 years and have restored period features including high ceilings, thick stone-walls and decorative cornices. 

The property is well suited to almost any agricultural pursuit. Originally a resting station for the Cobb and Co coach horses in the 1800's; it is now a well maintained, income producing cattle property and vineyard. 

The Cooks established a 250 acres vineyard of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling produce award-winning grapes that are supplied several well-known wineries. 

The Adelaide Hills is located 20 minutes to the Adelaide CDB.

Offers are due October 19.

The median house price for the nearby suburb of Oakbank is $555,000, according to CoreLogic RP Data.
