Eastern suburbs rank as Sydney's highest auction performer

Sydney's eastern suburbs were the best performing sub-region in Sydney which scored a 66.6 percent clearance rate at the weekend, according to CoreLogic.

They cleared nearly 80 percent of their 114 auctions held.

Headlining the sales was a Randwick home (top) that belonged to the same family for the last 70 years.

That fetched $3.1 million when it sold through Black Lifestyle Property agent Jason Black.

There's been no price disclosure, but a Hamptons style Watsons Bay home sold at auction last weekend through Ballard Property.

The three bedder last sold for $2.35 million in 2014.
