A thee bedroom Caulfield townhouse has been successfully sold under the mortgagee auction hammer for $850,000.

The 2010 built home went to auction with $900,000 hopes.

Claudio Perruzza and Lindsey Harris of Biggin Scott St Kilda held the listing.

Situated at 19/293 Hawthorn Road the three bedroom two bathroom home was sold at a February 19 Auction.

The home was listed as a rental for $700/pw as recently as December 2018.

It was listed previously as a $650/pw rental in February 2015.

Last sold in 2009 the previous building site transacted for $760,000.

The median price for a home in Caulfield is $1.6 million according to CoreLogic, which calculate its annual change in median price over the past 10 years as 3.9%.
