Avondale Hall, marketed as one of Armadale's most beautiful homes, fetched $4.9 million at weekend Jellis Craig auction.

The 1911 classic Queen Anne Revival home comes with a combination of elegant and contemporary finishes.

There are five upstairs bedrooms.

The 800 square metre Avondale Road holding last traded at around $1.5 million in 1998.

Armadale's median house price sits at $1,627,500, according to RP Data, down on the $1,755,000 peaks in 2011.
