Aria consolidates Woolloongabba site
Aria Property Group has paid $10 million to consolidate a Woolloongabba site to develop a residential project.
Brisbane City Council sold a 4,403 square metre block at 17 Gibbon Street while the Nazareth Lutheran Church of South Brisbane sold the second 2,667 square metre block, which also fronts Hubert Street, off the market through Colliers International.
Developer Tim Forrester’s Aria Property Group is behind the Urban Development Institute of Australia 2013 award-winning Vine building in South Brisbane and has a raft of stylish refurbishments and buildings to its name including Coco Bliss in Mooloolaba and The Cliffs at Kangaroo Point.
Aria plans to develop an integrated residential project with four individually designed buildings on the large Woolloongabba site.
Brent Liddell, Aria’s manager of residential development projects, says Woollongaba is an exciting area for land redevelopment.
“With the nearby Logan Road restaurant and antique precinct, the up and coming B.a.T. [Bus and Train] tunnel and its proposed station across the road, we think the area is ripe for a quality mixed use development.
“Our plans for the 7,100 square metre site are to develop four distinctly different medium rise residential buildings. We want to give them their own identity architecturally and separate them into their own body corporates,’’ says Liddell.
