Alexandria development takes home AustralianGreen Smart Awards

An apartment building in Alexandria has been recognised at the AustralianGreen Smart Awards 2019 for its achievement in sustainable building. 

7 Wyndham Street, known as The Fern Development, was the winner of the HIA Australian GreenSmart Professional and the HIA Australian GreenSmart Multi Dwelling Development.

The Fern was also a finalist in the HIA Australian GreenSmart Energy Efficiency category.

The building comprises of 11 one-bedroom apartments over six levels.

The development utilises a heat recovery ventilation system, high quality insulation, and triple glazed doors and windows to conserve energy. 

This amounts to a purported 90% cut (compared to the average house) in the energy required to heat and cool the residence.  

Redfern train station is 400 metres from the residential complex by foot.

The development sits on a 236 square metre site, with an internal building area of 626 square metres.
