1850s St Kilda farmhouse listing
A humble 1854 farmhouse in St Kilda has been listed for sale at 34 Waterloo Crescent.
It ranks as one of the oldest original residences in Melbourne, completed just 19 years after settlement.
The heritage protected, time capsule captures colonial Australian life, its only bathroom, with shower and loo, all outside.
Vendors Tom and Julie, who bought the cottage in 1989, are moving to Tasmania.
The back of the house faces the street because, when it was built, Melbourne was farmland, and the property looked out to the ocean.
The 34 Waterloo Crescent house is tipped to fetch around $1 million.
The home goes to auction November 8 through Pride Real Estate agent Nicole Prime.
