Burwood is a suburb of western Sydney, located 16 kilometers west of the Sydney central business district.
Burwood remained largely rural until after World War II, when it began to be developed as a residential suburb. Today, it is home to over 30,000 people.
The main commercial center of Burwood is located on the intersection of Burwood Road and Parramatta Road. This area contains a mix of retail shops, restaurants and service businesses. There are also several smaller shopping precincts located throughout the suburb.
Burwood is well serviced by public transport, with both train and bus services available. The train station is located on the Main Western line, providing direct access to Sydney's CBD and other major suburban destinations.
