Walker Corporation has received Development Approval for its twin towers in Maroochydore City Centre, bringing 251 new homes to one of the country’s tightest residential real estate markets.

Comprising two 19-storey towers, <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/sol-by-walker-maroochydore-first-ave-maroochydore">SOL by Walker</a> will feature a mix of one to four-bedroom apartments, townhouses and penthouses, anchored by ground-floor retail shops, bars and restaurants.

The Sunshine Coast off the plan apartment market is looking prime for a big 2025, with several developments from some of the regions biggest developers to launch next year.

Still a relatively untapped market as far as new apartments goes, a handful of developers have been creating places to live up and down the Sunshine Coast for years, while some are being attracted to the new CBD which is forming in <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/developments/maroochydore-qld" target="">Maroochydore</a>, Australia's largest&nbsp;greenfield CBD&nbsp;project.

The new Maroochydore City Centre is being developed on the former 53-hectare Horton Park Golf Club. Around 10,000 residents will eventually call Maroochydore City Centre home with 25,000 workers commuting to the CBD daily.

Walker Corp is continuing its push in South East Queensland.

A few weeks after its Robina megasite was given fast tracked approval to develop 2,750 homes, Walker Corp has pushed the go button on <a href="https://www.urban.com.au/new-apartments/sol-by-walker-first-ave-maroochydore">Sol by Walker</a>, on its large Maroochydore CBD site.

The developer has filed $220 million plans for a two-tower, mixed-use development with 251 dwellings. The towers will share a three-level podium that will home extensive commercial and retail spaces.

The 6,715 sqm sits on the corner of&nbsp;First Avenue and Future Way. The 19-level towers will be inlign with Habitat Development Group's recently completed The Corso apartment development.

Walker Corp is proposing 55 one-bedroom apartments, 111 two-bedrooms, 80 three-bedrooms, including 11 townhouses, and five four-bedroom apartments.&nbsp;

The town planning report by Walker Corporation&nbsp;Principal Planner,&nbsp;Nicole Topple, said the proposed diversity of housing stock in the development will provide dwellings at various price points, allowing a cross-section of the population with differing demographics and family sizes to move into the development. A third of the proposed dwellings comprise three or more bedrooms, providing opportunities for families.

At least 4,000 new homes will be delivered in the Maroochydore City Centre Priority Development Area,&nbsp;a 62-hectare site centrally located in Maroochydore. It includes the former Horton Park Golf Course, privately owned land, and a drainage reserve.

Walker Corp unveils Sol by Walker in Maroochydore CBD

The South Australian masterplanned community Riverlea has brought forward development of its retail and homemakers precinct by two years given strong house and land sales.

Stage one of the 80,000 sqm retail centre is now expected to start in early 2022.

Just 35 minutes’ drive from the Adelaide CBD, Riverlea will have over 12,000 homes for 30,000 residents. 

Stage one is on track for completion early September with first residents ready to move in next year.

The $3 billion project is being by Walker Corporation.

Its executive chairman Lang Walker said "Adelaide has fallen in love with his Riverlea vision."

"The speed in which lots are being sold is phenomenal," he said.

“I want Riverlea to be my signature statement and an incredible place which will be revered in South Australia,” Mr Walker said.

Over 240 house and land lots have been sold with hundreds of families on the waitlist for its next releases.

Riverlea offers a long-term solution to the rapid population growth expected in Adelaide’s North West, anticipated to climb by 26,000 over the next decade.

Riverlea will have four retail shopping precincts.
